I graduated from Curtin University W.A. in 1994 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology and was Awarded the Student Research Prize 1994 by the Speech Pathology Australia WA Branch.
I have been a practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia for over 25 years
Since graduating, I have worked continually as a school aged speech pathologist. I worked for many years with School Aged Therapy Services (Branch of Disability Services Commission); Therapy Focus at the North East Language Development Centre, and Education Support schools, centres and units across the northern metropolitan area.
In 2005, I started my own private speech pathology practice - Wanneroo Area Speech Pathology.
My special interest and passion continues to be in the area of providing treatment for children with Developmental Language Disorders and Specific Learning Difficulites including reading, spelling and written language impairments.
I appreciate how all parents want to do what's best for their children but that finding the time, motivation and money to attend private speech pathology sessions and complete home practice on top of hobbies; other therapies; school homework, work and other family demands can be a real challenge. I hope that my experience and knowledge in fostering speech, language and literacy development combined with your knowledge of your child and your desire to improve his/her learning outcomes, will result in positive treatment results. Many of my past and current clients with complex language and literacy learning difficulties have attended therapy at the clinic for many years and it ihas been my privilege to build relationships and trust with these students and often their entire family as we learn, develop and grow older together.
